Fort Building to Teach Kids About Construction and Life

When our children are little, we want to teach them many lessons. The simple ones include the alphabet, counting to 10, and staying safe. We often don't imagine what they might be doing in ten years. What will your child be when he or she grows up? You can actually prepare them for it today! Fort building is a wonderful way to teach kids about construction and life.

The modern workplace is changing and parents know it because they are a part of this evolution. Many parents have gone back to school to learn a new skill and earn more money for their families. Playtime is how kids learn. Incorporating educational lessons into playtime helps kids to learn – and they don't even know it.

Fort building makes learning fun and easy. Kids are developing important skills as they play. To build a sturdy fort, kids need to learn about sizes, shapes, and the proper use of space. These are lessons in math, architecture, and art. They also have to be creative to design a fort they like. Encourage your children to draw a picture of what they want the fort to look like when they are done.

A fort can be a house, castle, reading nook or even a lemonade stand. A reading nook can quickly become a library with all your child's favorite books. Encourage your child to put them an alphabetical order. A simple structure can be transformed into a money-making enterprise with a couple of pitchers of lemonade. Your child will be learning about finances and money.

If your child decides to build a castle, it can quickly become history lesson. Make history interesting by creating fairy tales that also explain what life was like hundreds of years ago. Your child can even wear a costume to become king or queen of the castle! Talk about famous kings and queens. Have your child decide which one to be for a day.

Creating this fort also requires problem solving skills and teamwork if you child is playing with friends. These are essential skills for learn for school and a future career. Encourage your child to figure out solutions if an issue arises. Let the other children make suggestions. This lets everyone discover how working together can be better.

After playtime is over, your child will also learn about letting go when they take the fort down. It is important to teach your child to clean up when the day is over. If your child is anxious about taking down their creation, encourage them to build something new and different the next day. They will find out about all the possibilities the future can hold! This also helps them to believe in themselves and what they can do.

A Fort Magic kit makes it easy for children to build forts that express their unique personalities and visions. If they can imagine it, they can build it with a Fort Magic kit and a bit of effort.
